1) What is the maximum number of ECTS credits I can take in a semester?
In four-year programs, students may take courses worth a maximum of 30 ECTS credits in the first, second, third, and fourth semesters, and a maximum of 40 ECTS credits from the fifth semester onward.
2) What is the maximum number of years I have to complete the program?
Excluding the one-year foreign language preparatory class, students must complete their undergraduate program within a maximum of seven years, regardless of whether they registered for every semester.
3) How many ECTS credits do I need to graduate?
The total number of credits required to graduate from the Department of Health Management is 240 ECTS. Of this total, 63 ECTS must come from departmental elective courses.
4) Where can I find undergraduate course content and descriptions?
You can access them through our University's Student Affairs Office website, or at: https://bilsis.hacettepe.edu.tr/oibs/bologna/index.aspx?lang=tr&curOp=showPac&curUnit=306&curSunit=786#

Turkish Language (TKD104), Atatürk's Principles and History of the Turkish Revolution (AİT203, AİT204), and Basic Information and Communication Technologies Usage (BEB650) are the common compulsory courses found in all higher education programs.
6) What are the ING111, ING112, ING211, and ING212 courses among the required courses? Can I be exempt from them?
ING-coded courses are offered as part of programs where the language of instruction is 100% English, and are designed to develop students' English language and communication skills. They are taught by the School of Foreign Languages (YDYO). For details on prerequisites, exemptions, and passing grades, please visit: https://ydyo.hacettepe.edu.tr/
7) Which courses are compulsory?
These are the courses marked with a "Z" (Compulsory) in the Department of Health Management undergraduate curriculum.
8) Is class attendance mandatory?
Attendance at lectures and practical sessions is mandatory. A student who — including for excused absences — misses more than 30% of the theoretical class hours will not be admitted to the final or make-up examination for that course. The list of students who lose the right to sit the exam due to absenteeism is announced by the course instructor before the final exam period. For repeated theoretical courses, if the attendance requirement was already met in a previous semester, attendance is not required again.
9) What weight does the final (general) examination carry in the course grade?
The final examination's contribution to the course grade can range from a minimum of 40% to a maximum of 60%. The weighting of mid-semester performance and the final exam, the minimum final-exam grade required to pass, and the course syllabus are announced to students by the course instructor at the beginning of the semester.
10) Is my make-up exam grade evaluated together with my mid-semester grades?
Yes — make-up exam results are evaluated together with the student's mid-semester performance.
11) What can I do about a failed elective course — can I take a different elective instead, or have it removed from my transcript?
A student may retake a failed elective course in any semester in which it is offered. A student who does not wish to retake that elective has the right to withdraw from it. A withdrawn elective cannot be re-added, but it will continue to appear on the transcript. A student may exercise this withdrawal right for a maximum of three elective courses during their studies. Graduating-status students who have used their withdrawal right and still have one failed elective course may, by decision of the relevant administrative board, take a different elective course in its place — a student may use this option only once. If, despite having used their withdrawal rights, a graduating-status student still has more than one failed elective course and these courses have not been offered in the last two semesters, the relevant administrative board may decide to remove these failed electives from the student's record.
12) What are the conditions for taking the three-course (final-chance) examination?
Students who, by the end of their maximum period of study, have fulfilled the attendance requirement for graduation but have no more than three failed courses remaining may take the three-course examination. Students who have passed all courses in their program but cannot graduate because their overall GPA is below 2.00 may also take the three-course examination for up to three courses of their choosing. Students wishing to make use of these examinations must apply to their own academic unit to exercise this right. Three-course examinations are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar.
13) Where can I find contact information for the relevant coordinators and staff if I need help with something?
Contact information for faculty members and research assistants is available under the "Staff" section of the Department of Health Management website. In addition, the relevant coordinators are listed under the "Coordinatorships" tab within the "Education" section of the department website.
14) Can I do a voluntary (optional) internship?
Under the University's Board of Directors Decision dated 21.12.2016, No. 2016-2958, the Occupational Accident and Disease Insurance premium expenses for students undertaking a voluntary internship are covered by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports.
Students wishing to complete a voluntary internship must submit the required documents in full no later than 1 month before the internship start date; this is important for ensuring that internship procedures are completed correctly and on time. The maximum duration for a voluntary internship is 30 working days.
15) Where can the compulsory Professional Training (Internship) Course in Health Institutions be completed?
Professional Training (Internship) can be completed in the core management units (human resources management, billing/accrual, quality, procurement, etc.) of public and private hospitals. Applications to private hospitals are made by the students themselves, while applications to public hospitals are made by the Department. Requests to complete professional training at health-related institutions other than public or private hospitals are evaluated by the Commission.
16) Which courses are prerequisites for the Professional Training (Internship) Course in Health Institutions?
In order to take this course, students must have taken and successfully passed the courses that serve as prerequisites according to the provisions of the Directive:

18) How is grading carried out for the Professional Training (Internship) Course?
The grade students receive for the reports they prepare during their professional training, together with the evaluation grade given by the Hospital Professional Training Supervisor, are counted as mid-term grades. At the end of the professional training period, a final examination is held on the date and time specified in the practice calendar.
